UPS
Wins Top Corporate Award for Minority Business
Development
After 15 years of building
its program, United Parcel Service was recognized
as a national model for the way a supplier diversity
program should be run. The National Minority Supplier
Development Council named UPS its “Corporation
of the Year” at NMSDC’s 25th anniversary
awards gala in Miami. The celebration capped the
council’s annual conference.

NMSDC chose UPS because of its comprehensive
minority supplier development process. “[It]
truly reflects the company’s commitment
to doing business with minority businesses,”
says NMSDC President Harriet R. Michel. “Their
efforts consistently address the full spectrum

Chartered in 1972 to provide increased procurement
