UPS Wins Top Corporate Award for Minority Business Development

After 15 years of building its program, United Parcel Service was recognized as a national model for the way a supplier diversity program should be run. The National Minority Supplier Development Council named UPS its “Corporation of the Year” at NMSDC’s 25th anniversary awards gala in Miami. The celebration capped the council’s annual conference.

NMSDC chose UPS because of its comprehensive minority supplier development process. “[It] truly reflects the company’s commitment to doing business with minority businesses,” says NMSDC President Harriet R. Michel. “Their efforts consistently address the full spectrum of supplier development and are worthy of being modeled by others.”

Chartered in 1972 to provide increased procurement and business opportunities for minority businesses of all sizes, the NMSDC provides a direct link between corporate America and minority-owned businesses. The council is one of .....DP
