CASE Organization Honors President Elizabeth Kiss with Executive Leadership Award

Agnes Scott College President Elizabeth Kiss will receive the 2018 Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III Chief Executive Leadership Award.  A presentation of the award will be made at the CASE District III conference in Atlanta, Feb. 11-14, 2018.

Established in 1999, this prestigious award recognizes the chief executive of a District III CASE member institution for outstanding leadership and service in support of education. The award is presented annually to a chief executive whose contributions to their campuses and communities deserve exceptional recognition and celebration. Kiss’ nomination was enthusiastically endorsed by several colleagues and alumnae who wrote glowing letters of recommendation on behalf of the president.

“I have had the distinct privilege of working closely with Elizabeth and experiencing first-hand her passion, intellectual acuity and dynamism,” said Robiaun Charles, vice president for college advancement. “The Agnes Scott community is forever bettered through her commitment to this special place, and I can think of no one more deserving of this award.”

CASE III Chief Executive Leadership Award criteria include demonstrating the ability to create a vision and inspire others, establish a positive image for the institution while leading it to higher levels of success, increase the institution’s stature in the community, encourage innovation and risk-taking among employees, and actively support all aspects of institutional advancement.

During her 11-year tenure at Agnes Scott, Kiss has led the launch of SUMMIT, creating “perhaps the best-known signature experience program in the country” according to The Chronicle for Higher Education; garnered national recognition as a higher education leader, including the 2017 ACE Award for Institutional Transformation; become a nationally-recognized leader in environmental sustainability, installing solar and geothermal on campus; and completed the largest fundraising campaign in college history, The Greatness Before Us, raising $115.9 million.
