Technology Integration Group (TIG) and its founder and CEO, Bruce Geier, represent the powerful impact that minority suppliers can have upon the business world through promoting innovation and diversity. The company ostensibly supplies information technology solutions to businesses, but, in reality, the scope of TIG and Geier’s vision goes far beyond that, and strives to help businesses integrate these technologies into their corporate infrastructure in such a way that truly creates value.
Bruce Geier originally founded TIG in 1981 as PC Specialists, Inc. At that time, information technology was just making inroads into the corporate scene, and Geier’s unique approach to business, focused not just on supply but also on support for integration, helped establish the company as the leading supplier in its market. As of 2010, TIG now boasts more than $300 million USD in annual revenue and some 23 regional locations worldwide, including a recent expansion into Shanghai.
As a minority-owned business, TIG is certified with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and as such has established important contracts with corporate partners in many diverse industries, from Sempra Energy, Cardinal Health, and AT&T, to the National Institutes of Health, and the United States Air Force and Department of Defense. As Geier says, “globalization is an inevitable requirement for sustainability”, so TIG focuses “with great resolve” on helping these institutions develop their corporate infrastructure in such a way as to reap the most benefit from an increasingly diverse and globalized world.
