2010 Champions of Diversity

Dwain L. Carver <br /> Associate Director of Corporate Supplier Diversity, Procter & Gamble

P&G’s Associate Director of Corporate Supplier Diversity is a 35 year veteran of the company. One of his first direct experiences with supplier diversity came in 1999 as a manufacturing plant manager, where he was instrumental in the successful business award, qualification and startup of an MBE packaging joint venture.

He assumed his current role in April 2009. In his first full year the company achieved its highest diversity spend ever exceeding $2 billion for the third straight year. Second tier spend also reached a record high last fiscal year.

Diversity is important to P&G and Mr. Carver is helping to identify ways in which P&G can grow its business with diverse suppliers in challenging economic times.

P&G’s purpose as a Company is to touch and improve consumers’ lives, now and for generations to come. Investing with diverse suppliers strengthens P&G’s innovation and go-to-market capabilities, and helps to touch and improve the lives of the women and men who work in these companies – and through them, their families and the communities in which they live and work.
